The itinerary leads you from the Lot Valley into the picturesque Célé Valley, renowned as one of the most scenic parts of the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route. You may also wish to visit the wonderful Grotte de Pech-Merle, a cave with prehistoric art famous for its paintings of horses and hands. The quiet country roads will take you from village to village where you can admire how man has had to adapt to the environment in search of earth and water. To enhance your first sight of Rocamadour, you arrive from the opposite side of the Valley of L’Alzou. Famed since the 12th Century as an important pilgrimage site, Rocamadour sits against a massive cliff and boasts impressive walls with small streets lined by medieval-style buildings. Make your way to the Hôtel Le Troubadour, your base for 2 nights. Le Troubadour is located just north of Rocamadour in a quiet area and within easy reach of other interesting sites. Le Troubadour has its own swimming pool and both breakfast and dinner will be served in the restaurant.
